Luna Rossa Cheese produced by the farm Fontegranne is made with raw and whole cow's milk. After a minimum seasoning of 90 days, is washed with water and salt, it has a hard and compact paste inside.
The Azienda Agricola Fontegranne was founded in 1968 when Mr. Alfredo, then sharecropper, bought the first 9 acres of land and the animals. Four years later milk production began, but it was in 2000 that the actual production started when Eros, the son of Mr. Alfredo, completely dedicated to the cheese production. Today the company boasts organically grown 84 acres, 150 animals and 40 goats. The milk here obtained is sold in part and in part transformed into more than 20 types of cheese.
General Information: Cheese is delicious both au naturel and paired with a sweet jam or with cured meats for an appetizer or an aperitive, excellent also as seasoning for main courses. How to eat: Cut cheese into 1 cm slices and serve it with honey or jam or cured meats, you can use this cheese also to prepare salads; enjoy it in the way you prefer.
